More than a dozen 22
x 9 canvasses will be placed around the campus for the Lasallian
community to sign their names for posterity. The activity is part of
De La Salle University-Manilas preparations for its centennial
celebrations in 2011.
Those who will take
the time to affix their signatures can join the raffle. Forty P1000
worth Globe prepaid cards will be raffled off before the launching program
on November 29.
Student organizations
will set up booths to gather as much signatures as possible. Once filled
up, the canvasses will be placed inside a stainless cylindrical time
capsule, which will be buried near the St. La Salle statue at the Marian
Quadrangle.
The canvasses will be
seen around the campus until November 29. The schedule for signing will
be Mondays to Fridays, from 9 am to 6:30 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am
to 4 pm.
The special ceremony
will bring together representatives of the Board of Trustees, administration,
faculty, staff, and the student body.
The groundbreaking
ceremony for the time capsule will be part of the activities of the
centennial 10-year countdown. The November 29 launching will also signal
the start of the fundraising campaign in commemoration of the Universitys
100th year.
